Chen Zhuo, President of Avatr, announced at the press conference that the Avatr 07 Pro+ is equipped with Huawei's Qian Kun Intelligent Driving ADS SE system.
Unlike the Qian Kun Intelligent Driving ADS 3.0 system in other Avatr models, which relies primarily on LiDAR technology, the ADS SE is a vision-based solution. However, both ADS SE and ADS 3.0 share the same underlying algorithm network structure.
The ADS SE offers features like Highway NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) for route planning, lane changes, and highway overtaking. City LCC (Lane Centering Control) to keep the car centered in lanes on urban roads. However, unlike ADS 3.0, ADS SE lacks City NOA and is limited to City LCC.
The ADS SE provides two features that make long-distance and city driving more convenient and safer. Its Highway NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) can autonomously plan routes and manage intelligent driving operations such as lane changes and overtaking.
Chen gave an example, mentioning that his colleague recently drove the Avatr 07 Pro+ from Wuhan to Chongqing, covering over 800 kilometers of highways and urban expressways, without manual intervention throughout the entire trip, except when entering and exiting service areas.
In everyday city driving, its City LCC (Lane Centering Control) feature does more than keep the car in its lane. It automatically recognizes traffic lights and adjusts speed accordingly, making city driving less stressful.
The Avatr 07 Pro+ is offered in two versions: extended-range at 219,900 yuan (USD 30,181.05) and pure electric at 229,900 yuan. Compared to the Avatr 11, 12, and Ultra versions of the 07 series, all priced above 250,000 yuan, the 07 Pro+ is Avatr's most affordable model.
China’s NEV market is experiencing a surge in intelligent driving technology, with major companies integrating it into more affordable models. This shift aims to expand access to intelligent driving and reach a broader consumer base nationwide.
For example, BYD announced that its self-developed "God's Eye" intelligent driving system will be featured in models priced under 200,000 yuan. Likewise, Changan Auto’s Deepal brand has introduced intelligent driving versions across its entire lineup, all priced under 200,000 yuan.
Chen said Avatr will continue to enhance intelligent driving integration and promote its wider adoption. Unlike BYD and Deepal, which target vehicles under 200,000 yuan, Avatr focuses on the NEV market above 200,000 yuan.
