Chongqing, STMicroelectronics, and Sanan Group Discuss Strengthening Cooperation for New Energy Vehicle Hub

Chongqing - On February 26, Yuan Jiajun, Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Chongqing Municipal Committee, and Hu Henghua, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and Mayor of Chongqing, met with Jean-Marc Chery, President and CEO of STMicroelectronics, and Lin Xiucheng, Chairman of Sanan Group, to discuss ways to strengthen and improve the semiconductor industry ecosystem and deepen pragmatic cooperation with Chongqing in areas such as autonomous driving, robotics, and low-altitude economy.

Yuan emphasized that Chongqing plays a unique and crucial role in the national regional development and opening-up strategy. The city is currently making solid progress in integrating technological innovation with industrial development, implementing the "AI+" initiative, and exploring new models for modern urban governance in megacities.

Chongqing is accelerating its transformation into a global hub for intelligent, connected new-energy vehicles while also advancing the construction of a modern city. He expressed hope that STMicroelectronics and Sanan Group would seize market opportunities, expedite project development, and work together to improve the semiconductor industry ecosystem.

Yuan also emphasized the need for deeper collaboration with Chongqing in areas such as autonomous driving, robotics, low-altitude economy, digital grids, and smart energy. Chongqing is committed to providing comprehensive service support to ensure the success of enterprises and help foster a favorable environment for government effectiveness, market efficiency, and business profitability.

Chery and Lin expressed their gratitude for Chongqing's strong support for their collaborative projects. They praised the city's proactive approach to entrepreneurship and its high level of service, which have created a first-class business environment for companies to thrive.

They believe the strong coordination between the city and businesses has driven efficient project progress, highlighting the "Chongqing Speed."
