Chongqing - The third session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) opens on Tuesday in Beijing. During the session, CPPCC National Committee members will review and discuss key documents, including the government work report, as outlined in the proposed agenda.

Bridging News spoke with several CPPCC National Committee members to gain insight into their key priorities this year, focusing on Chongqing.

Meng Geli, Vice Chairperson of the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the China Democratic League, highlighted the importance of modern governance in megacities. She believes Chongqing's unique topography and complex urban environment offer valuable models for managing large cities. Meng suggested prioritizing the development of an AI-powered urban brain initiative, leveraging digital transformation to drive the modernization of urban governance.

Ming Ju, Director of the Chongqing Science and Technology Bureau, focused on the private economy, which has become a vital force in China's industrial sector. He called for increased national support for technological innovation in private enterprises, particularly in areas like high-level talent recruitment and involvement in major national science and technology initiatives.

Peng Jing, Founding Partner and Director of Chongqing Jingsheng Law Firm, proposed the establishment of a low-altitude economy demonstration zone in Chongqing. She emphasized the need to increase the availability of low-altitude airspace resources, followed by the development of a low-altitude airspace grid. This should include guiding research and setting requirements for accessing low-altitude routes, considering different conditions and levels.
