Chongqing - On March 5, Premier Li Qiang delivered the government work report at the opening ceremony of the third session of the 14th National People's Congress. The report emphasized that this year marks the final year of the 14th Five-Year Plan, with the GDP growth target set at "around 5 percent" for 2025, the same as last year.
This year, the government will accelerate the establishment of a new development pattern, steadily promote high-quality development, comprehensively deepen reform and opening-up, build a modern industrial system, and foster the deep integration of technological and industrial innovation.
After the meeting, deputies to the National People's Congress (NPC) from the Chongqing delegation discussed the report. They expressed confidence in the outlined policies and their ability to drive economic growth and transformation.

Xia Yong, NPC Deputy, highlighted in an interview that Chongqing's industrial strengths and regional advantages align with the Premier's report, which stresses accelerating the development of emerging industries like 6G and the low-altitude economy.
The report also focuses on harnessing the digital economy’s potential, especially through intelligent connected new energy vehicles, expanding 5G applications, and strengthening the national computing power layout.
Chongqing is advancing the "Xinjiang Computing Power Integration into Chongqing" initiative to reduce computing power costs. With the rise of large models like Deepseek, the city now benefits from enhanced computing power, algorithms, and data capabilities.
"Therefore, I believe the development of the 'Artificial Intelligence+' initiative in Chongqing also has inherent advantages," said Xia. "And I think the growth potential is significant."
