Since its launch in 2015, the Chongqing Women's Half Marathon has become one of the earliest Gold Label road races certified by the China Athletics Association. After six editions, the seventh iteration will kick off on March 23 along the Beibin Road in Jiangbei District, Chongqing.
This year's event, combined with the consumption season activities, will feature three major highlights to attract participants and visitors alike.
To meet the diverse needs of running enthusiasts, the 2025 marathon will include three categories: the half marathon (21.1 km), a mini-run, and a family run.
This year's event will be the largest in its history, with 15,000 participants. Organizers expect the race to bring together athletes from all walks of life, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm, competition, and personal achievement.
The event is designed with a "participant-first" approach. The half-marathon route will start at Liujia Wharf and pass iconic landmarks such as the Yangpaoju (foreign cannon factory), the 1862 Cultural and Creative Park, and the Xu Beihong Art District, allowing runners to experience Chongqing's unique blend of modernity, culture, and natural beauty.

The mini-run and family run will conclude at the Chongqing Century Jinyuan Shopping Center, offering participants a perfect opportunity to enjoy a fun-filled weekend with family and friends.
Organizers will implement a three-wave start system to ensure a smooth and safe race, grouping participants based on their chosen categories. Along the route, seven hydration stations, nearly 40 cheer zones, and photo spots will be set up to energize runners and provide memorable moments.

The marathon is part of the broader "Beautiful Jiangbei·Consumption Season," which includes a food festival, shopping carnival, and residents' benefit festival. These activities are to promote commerce, sports, and cultural integration, encouraging participants and visitors to run, eat, shop, and enjoy the city.
The consumption season, which has already begun, will run until mid-June. Over 54 million yuan (about $7.46 million) in fiscal and social funds has been allocated to offer consumer benefits such as discount coupons, cashback promotions, and lucky draws, ensuring a rewarding experience for all.
With its expanded scale, improved services, and a wide range of activities, the 2025 Chongqing Women's Half Marathon promises to be a landmark event, celebrating both athletic excellence and the vibrant culture of Chongqing.
