The event announced the inaugural Chongqing Science and Technology Achievement Transformation Competition, slated to run from April to July 2025.

The competition will focus on four major innovation sectors: green and low-carbon technologies, digital technology, life and health, and new materials. It aims to identify high-tech, high-potential achievements with strong application scenarios and substantial market prospects, fostering deeper integration between scientific and industrial innovation.

The competition will also feature supporting activities such as achievement transformation training camps and demand-matching meetings, which will enhance the technical and business capabilities of the participating teams through systematic development and resource matching.

Chongqing aims to elevate its science and technology innovation center to a national level of influence by 2025.

A key focus will be to inspire innovation and creativity among the city's scientific talent, driving the overall development of scientific and technological advancements.

By 2025, Chongqing plans to achieve an R&D investment intensity exceeding 2.73%, with basic research making up 7% of the total. The city also targets a workforce of over 260,000 R&D professionals and 25 invention patents per 10,000 people.
