Chongqing - Chongqing’s Western China Science City Innovation Center of Intelligent and Connected Vehicles (WICV), a government-supported research hub, recently unveiled six breakthrough technologies.
Aimed at solving key issues like self-driving safety, data services, and auto exports, the launch marks another step in Chongqing’s fast rise as a global hub for smart vehicles.

Key technologies include a virtual-real testing system that simulates real-road conditions and cuts autonomous driving development time by 50%, and an AI-powered platform that automates complex scenario testing, helping manufacturers reduce costs significantly.
Also featured is China’s first fluid-free brake system, co-developed with Tsinghua University, which enhances precision and safety in autonomous driving. A smart data platform that updates traffic information hourly at 80% lower cost has already been deployed in Nanjing and Guangzhou.
WICV plays a key role in Chongqing’s push to become a hub for new energy and intelligent vehicles. It has developed over 50 core technologies and contributed to 19 industry standards, making it a major force in China’s smart driving sector.
Supported by a multi-billion-yuan municipal investment plan, Chongqing aims to install 5,000 ultra-fast charging stations by 2026 and lead the nation’s smart vehicle market, targeting an annual production capacity of 500,000 vehicles.
“These innovations exemplify our tech-ecosystem model,” said Du Guoping, chairman of the Chongqing Hi-Tech Zone Development Group, WICV’s parent company.
At a media exchange session, Tong Yi, Deputy General Manager of Cloud Vehicle Wisdom Way Innovation Technology Co., Ltd., said the company is helping export traders support the global expansion of China’s intelligent and connected vehicles—including used cars—through its Yunche Mall platform.
The goal, he noted, is to improve parts services and software customization, making Chinese vehicle exports more efficient and cost-effective.
