Chongqing - The vibrant 2025 Chongqing Children's Day Color Run transformed Nanbin Road into a sea of laughter and energy as 8,000 participants from over 3,300 families joined the fun-filled event. Designed to promote family bonding and a healthy lifestyle, the run celebrated the upcoming International Children's Day (June 1) with a mix of sports, culture, and charity.

Organized by the Chongqing Sports Bureau and the Nan'an District Government, this year's event marked the fourth edition of the Chongqing Children's Day Color Run, solidifying its reputation as one of China's largest and most beloved parent-child running events. Since its launch in 2021, the run has become a key part of the Chongqing Marathon Series and the national "Run, Youngsters!" campaign, encouraging kids and parents to stay active together.

The 5-kilometer course started at the Chongqing Kaibu Site Park, winding through historic landmarks like Longmenhao Old Street, Ciyun Temple, and the Bell Tower Plaza, before finishing at Dongyuan 1891 Shopping Mall. Runners not only enjoyed the thrill of the race but also soaked in Chongqing's rich cultural heritage along the way.

To ensure a smooth and secure experience, the event deployed 300+ trained volunteers from local universities, 75 medical staff, six ambulances, 17 AEDs stationed along the route, 253 security personnel, and 10 emergency runners on standby.

There was also fun beyond the finish line. The post-run festivities were just as exciting. The blind-box medals gave the young people surprise collectible badges featuring Chongqing landmarks and zodiac designs. Birthday celebrations also became part of the event, with over 30 young participants born in late May enjoying a group birthday party with cakes and gifts. Meanwhile, a workshop on making Chen Mahua (a traditional Chongqing snack) attracted huge interest, with all 300 slots booked quickly.

The heartwarming move of the event was partnering with Le Yi Special Needs Children's Center and the China Marathon Grand Slam Charity Team to host the "Stars Charity Run." Fifty children with autism, each accompanied by a volunteer, joined the main race, spreading the message of "Hand in Hand, Life in Motion."

With its record turnout, cultural touches, and charitable initiatives, the 2025 Chongqing Children's Day Color Run once again proved why it is a must-attend event for families across China.
