By CHANG CHEN|May 27,2025

Chongqing - On May 25, Sichuan Fine Arts Institute (SCFAI) launched its 85th-anniversary celebration and the 2025 Graduation Season series of events. Marking the institution's 85-year legacy, the graduation season commenced with an undergraduate thesis exhibition, Museum Night, and other activities.

This year's undergraduate exhibition will open simultaneously on May 26 at the Art Museum of SCFAI's University Town Campus, Huxi Commune, and Chongqing Contemporary Art Museum at the Huangjueping Campus. It will run through June 15 and showcase nearly 10,000 works from over 1,500 students across 24 undergraduate programs.

Wang Jianjia from the Department of Oil Painting presented "the New Life of the Kazakh People", blending vibrant and textured oil techniques to express her passion for Kazakh culture. "I aimed to capture their spiritual vitality in the new era—scenes of dancing under trees and herding horses," she explained. Using a unique method, she applied semi-dry paint as a base, sanded it for texture, and layered delicate brushstrokes to create a mottled effect.

Wang Cenlin from the Experimental Art program unveiled “Fusion Tower: Alpha-Level Calculations”, merging futuristic vision with technical innovation to explore humanity's technological future. Inspired by the Tokamak device at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, he remarked, "I sought to bridge scientific grandeur with artistic expression through this systematic, immersive installation."
