Chongqing - On May 28, Hilton Garden Inn Chongqing Yubei Central Park officially opened its doors, bringing a new international hospitality option to one of China’s most dynamic tourism cities. Located just steps from Chongqing Central Park—one of the largest open urban parks in the world—the hotel reflects the city's growing appeal as a hub for global travelers and business visitors alike.

As Chongqing accelerates its development into a leading city for culture, tourism, and international exchange, the debut of the Hilton Garden Inn·Gen A—a new generation of Hilton Garden Inn hotels designed for modern travelers—comes at a pivotal moment. The hotel's proximity to Chongqing Central Park, major business districts, and key transportation hubs underscores the city's strengths as both a business and leisure destination.

At the opening, Jenny Milos, Vice President, Brand Management, Suites & Focused Service, Asia Pacific, Hilton, explained how Hilton Garden Inn·Gen A sets itself apart in the upscale focused-service hotel segment. "Hilton Garden Inn·Gen A is a key milestone in our journey to redefine the upscale focused-service category in China and beyond," Milos said.

Milos noted that Hilton's development is guided by deep consumer insights, particularly in China, where a new generation of travelers seeks quality, independence, and experience. "Gen A is our answer to this shift—an experience built on elevated design, purposeful amenities, and the freedom to travel and live on one’s own terms," she explained. "With the successful launch of our first Gen A hotels in Chongqing, Sanya, and Harbin, we’re proud to bring this vision to life."

Li Xianfeng, Vice President of Hilton Garden Inn, Hilton Greater China and Mongolia, spoke about why Chongqing, and specifically the Central Park area, was chosen for this flagship opening. "As industry and population shift toward Central and Western China, we see hotel investors extending their footprint into these high-growth regions," Li said. "Chongqing’s rising consumer spending power and increasing demand for high-quality hospitality make the city highly attractive to Hilton."

He highlighted that the opening of the Chongqing Yubei Central Park Hilton Garden Inn marks a significant milestone in Hilton’s innovation journey in China. "As one of the first Gen A properties, this hotel will serve as a benchmark, demonstrating our confidence in and commitment to Chongqing’s thriving tourism and hospitality market," Li said. He further noted that Western China has become an important region for Hilton, as evidenced by the establishment of a dedicated regional office in Chengdu last year, which aims to better serve and support the area’s rapid development.

The opening ceremony drew business leaders and hospitality experts, all underscoring Chongqing’s strong momentum as an emerging center for international business and leisure travel. As the city continues to invest in cultural, ecological, and urban amenities, its expanding portfolio of global hotels signals confidence in the region’s ongoing growth.

With the addition of the Hilton Garden Inn Gen A, Chongqing not only gains another high-quality accommodation choice but also further solidifies its status as a gateway city for international travelers seeking to explore the unique blend of nature, culture, and innovation that defines Chongqing today.
