On June 1, 2025, as a crucial part of the National Environment Day and Beautiful China Awareness Week, the "Beautiful China, Childlike Paintings" ecological culture promotion event was successfully held at Nanshan Botanical Garden in Chongqing.

The event was hosted by the Center for Environmental Education and Communications of Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and Chongqing Ecology and Environment Bureau, organized by the Center for Environmental Education and Communications of Chongqing, CBG-Children, and the Ecology and Environment Bureau of Nan'an District, Chongqing, and co-organized by the Management Office of Nanshan Botanical Garden. It vividly showcased the vision of ecological civilization construction of teenagers in the new era through children's paintings and an ecological study tour.
During the event, 34 parent-child families participated in the "Wonderful Life" study tour. Led by professional guides from Nanshan Botanical Garden, the children explored this national ecological science base, which houses over 5,000 subtropical plant species, to observe rare flora up close and discover ecosystem mysteries.

Through knowledge popularization, children gained a profound understanding of the significance of biodiversity conservation, fostering a love and reverence for nature. One participating parent remarked: "The children not only acquired knowledge but also recognized the responsibility for protecting lucid waters and lush mountains."
The "Environmental Protection in a Bag" painting activity followed. Centered on "Beautiful China, Childlike Paintings", the children illustrated their visions of beautiful China on eco-friendly canvas bags.
The imaginative works reflected children's unique perspectives on ecological civilization and wonderful expectations. These eco-friendly canvas bags will serve as vehicles for environmental advocacy, entering households and communities to promote low-carbon lifestyles.
The event exhibited 100 award-winning "Beautiful China" themed paintings. Highlighting the concept that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", the works portrayed beautiful skies, rivers and lakes, bays, mountains, cities, and villages—creating a new vision of beautiful China with diverse and shared beauty.

This exhibition also creatively employed AIGC technology to enhance the works, transforming static paintings into dynamic visual displays. By infusing technological vitality into traditional art, it attracted over 100 resident visitors to appreciate, effectively expanding public engagement in the beautiful China construction. This ecological culture event not only provided a platform for teenagers to showcase their environmental creativity but also fostered a sense of green responsibility, conveying the modern ethos of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.
During the knowledge Q&A session, the host not only encouraged study-tour families to participate actively but also warmly invited on-site visitors to join the interaction.
The Q&A focused on topics such as "Eco-friendly Habits in Daily Life" and "The Significance of Environmental Protection", creating a lively atmosphere with enthusiastic responses. Through relaxed interaction, it deepened the shared understanding among parent-child families and visitors about the importance of valuing ecology and human-nature harmony, subtly cultivating a green consciousness and future-oriented ecological values in their minds.
Reportedly, the 2025 Environment Day is themed "Taking the Lead in the Beautiful China Initiative", focusing on the central task of comprehensively advancing beautiful China construction. With the overarching goal of achieving tangible outcomes, it showcases practical achievements from beautiful China pilot zones and highlights the dynamic participation of the whole society in this initiative. It emphasizes green and low-carbon concepts, international elements, and ecological culture connotations, promoting China's achievements in ecological civilization globally. As the host city for the national event, Chongqing will share China's ecological and environmental protection stories with the world through a series of promotional activities.
