Chongqing - On June 19, a special China-U.S. youth exchange, "The Bridge of the Future: Meeting the Youth in Chongqing," was held at the Chongqing Stilwell Museum. The event brought together 39 students and teachers from the Renaissance Academy, as well as 12 Chinese students from Bashu Secondary School and Yucai Middle School, fostering cross-cultural dialogue and revisiting the spirit of wartime cooperation.

Guided by museum docents, participants explored General Joseph Stilwell's former residence, historical photo exhibitions, and documentaries that highlighted his role in World War II. The visit sparked thoughtful exchanges, with students reflecting on the enduring legacy of China-American collaboration.
"These young people need to remember this beautiful relationship that was forged back then," remarked Fran Hughes, a parent accompanying the U.S. delegation.

The salon discussion, themed "Reviving the Spirit of China-U.S. Cooperation, Writing New Stories of Youth Friendship," explored the historical significance of wartime alliances and the role of young people in today's bilateral relations. Asher Ollivier, a student from the Renaissance Academy, shared, "It's really interesting that Chinese and Americans helped each other during such a difficult time, creating this special bond."

Participants agreed that youth, with their open-mindedness and creativity, hold unique potential to strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation. The event concluded with a group photo in front of General Stilwell's statue, symbolizing hope for continued friendship.
