Chongqing - According to data released by the Chongqing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, by July 8, the city had successfully attracted 241,000 young professionals to work and start businesses in the city this year. The achievement comes through a series of measures, including campus employment services, the "Stay in Chongqing" campaign, and the "Dachuang Huigu" employment brand, as the city works to establish itself as the preferred destination for young talent in Western China.

A recent "Dachuang Huigu" specialized recruitment fair for electronics and intelligent manufacturing demonstrated the effectiveness of Chongqing's approach. A mechanical engineering graduate from Chongqing University received five tailored job recommendations through the event's AI matching system, including an opportunity with Chang'an Automobile. "The intelligent manufacturing position at Chang'An not only offers a probation-to-regular conversion but also allows me to participate in new energy vehicle core component R&D," the graduate said after securing a preliminary offer.
The "Dachuang Huigu" platform, established by the municipal HR bureau, has expanded to 17 districts across Chongqing, including Wanzhou District, Qianjiang District, and Fuling District. By June 2025, it had organized multiple targeted recruitment events in fields like intelligent manufacturing and producer services, attracting over 1,000 employers and 44,000 job seekers from more than 20 universities.

In the first half of 2025, Chongqing launched 211 "Public Employment Services on Campus" events at Southwest University and Chongqing University of Science and Technology, among others. These activities brought 3,500 employers to campuses, offering 107,000 positions and serving 151,000 students. The initiative has created a three-pronged campus employment service network combining policy, positions, and services.
To further boost youth employment, Chongqing is implementing a comprehensive support system. The first is policy support: a full-cycle youth employment policy package including dual subsidies (enterprise recruitment and flexible employment subsidies) and entrepreneurial guaranteed loans, with a maximum support of 8,000 yuan (around 1,113.728 USD) in startup funds and 500,000 yuan (around 69,604.5 USD) in personal loans.
The second is position development. The city plans to develop 1.2 million market-based positions in 2025 (a 32% year-on-year increase), plus 26,000 policy-supported positions focused on the "33618" modern manufacturing cluster and "416" sci-tech innovation layout.
Finally, the support lies in service optimization. Over 6,000 planned recruitment events, including national joint graduate recruitment fairs and "Golden Autumn Recruitment Month" activities, along with streamlined services like integrated document processing and up to 14 days of free accommodation at youth talent stations.
According to the municipal HR bureau, Chongqing will continue pursuing its goal of attracting 400,000 young talents by the end of 2025 and establish itself as a premier destination for youth employment and entrepreneurship in Western China.
