The event, guided by the Publicity Department of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and jointly organized by China Daily and Western China International Communication Organization, aims to enhance collaboration between Chongqing and countries along the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and share the city's experience in high-quality development.
On the first day, the group visited the Chongqing International Logistics Hub Park in Shapingba District. They observed the operations of the China-Europe Railway Express and the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, both crucial to Chongqing's modern logistics network. At the exhibition center, a global connectivity map highlighted the city's growing role as a gateway between China and the world. After watching an immersive 4D film about the Silk Road's logistics, Khonnazarov Gayrat Ergashevich, chief editor of the International Department, Uzbekistan National News Agency, noted, "China's development never ceases to amaze me. Every visit offers a fresh perspective." He expressed hope for even closer ties between Chongqing and Uzbekistan.

Kirsanava Sviatlana, deputy editor-in-chief of Belarusian Telegraph Agency, praised Chongqing's dynamic logistics and vibrant cityscape after learning that the New Land-Sea Corridor Operation Co., Ltd. processes over 250,000 TEUs annually.
Later, the group visited the Chongqing Bombing Massacre Site and the Shibati scenic area in Yuzhong District, gaining insight into the city's wartime history and cultural heritage. Duisenova Sandugash, a reporter of Orda in Kazakhstan and a frequent visitor to China, said she would share extensive photo and video content about Chongqing with her followers, highlighting the city’s unique stories.
In the coming days, the tour will include stops at the Chongqing Planning Exhibition Gallery, Nanshan Botanical Garden, and the historic Xiahao Lane in Nan’an District, exploring Chongqing’s past and future urban growth. The journalists will also visit the Seres Super Factory in Liangjiang New Area to learn about innovations in China’s new energy vehicle sector.
A highlight of the tour will be a sharing session on July 30, where delegates will present their impressions and foster deeper dialogue on development and cooperation.
Since the launch of the BRI, Chongqing has positioned itself as a major transport hub and economic engine in southwest China, deepening ties with countries and regions in infrastructure, trade, cultural exchange, technology, and education. The city's achievements have extended well beyond economic development, playing a pivotal role in people-to-people exchanges and international understanding. As Chongqing continues to embrace openness and cooperation, the Discover Chongqing Tour highlights the city’s ongoing efforts to build bridges, foster understanding, and share its story with the world.
