Chongqing - In H1 2025, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport saw international and regional passenger traffic rise 36% year-on-year to 1.06 million.
From January to June, over 330,000 foreign travelers passed through Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, nearly 30% of all cross-border passengers. About 117,000 entered China visa-free or on transit exemptions, making up 70% of inbound foreign visitors.

This year, the airport launched or resumed direct flights to Moscow, Tokyo, Kuching, and Kaohsiung, and increased frequency on routes to Seoul, Osaka, Bangkok, and Hong Kong.
Chongqing now operates 33 international and regional passenger routes with nearly 180 weekly flights, connecting the city to major destinations across North America, Europe, Oceania, the Middle East, and Asia.
Looking ahead, the airport plans to expand its international network to over 40 routes by the end of the year, focusing on Asia and Europe, and prioritizing connections with Belt and Road and RCEP countries. The goal is to strengthen Chongqing's role as a gateway for global trade, travel, and cultural exchange.
To improve connectivity, the airport has teamed up with airlines and service providers to introduce interline flight services on five additional routes—Milan, Budapest, Osaka, Kuala Lumpur, and Phnom Penh—bringing the total number of interline routes to 12, including London, Paris, Rome, Madrid, Sydney, Dubai, and others.
These services offer seamless travel with through-ticketing and baggage check-through. In the first half of 2025 alone, over 41,700 travelers used the interline service, nearly triple the number from last year. Since its launch in June 2023, the service has supported over 100,000 passengers.
In May, the airport also opened an international arrival service center support platform covering general information, payments, telecom, transportation, and tourism services. Multilingual staff and smart translation tools help ensure smooth processing for international arrivals. The center plans to expand its offerings to cover all aspects of living, working, studying, and doing business in Chongqing.
