Chongqing – "Traffic signals previously required manual configuration, but our AI-driven system now dynamically adjusts signal timing based on real-time road conditions, effectively resolving 'long queues but short green lights'." This announcement marked the launch of the 2025 "Vibrant China Research Tour" Chongqing leg at Jianqiao Industrial Park in Dadukou district, where innovations spanning smart surveillance, composite materials, and waste conversion showcased the city's low-carbon transformation.

Hikvision's technologies, widely applied in integrated security, smart education, and urban governance, now empower sustainable urban management through intelligent fire protection, energy systems, and transportation. "Our smart traffic light system is already piloted across Chongqing's streets," a company representative confirmed. The facility earned China’s National "Green Factory" certification in September 2022 by achieving land efficiency, non-toxic materials, clean production, waste recycling, and low-carbon energy use.

Green materials innovation also shines. "Have you noticed Huawei phones often have stronger signals? Our composite materials contribute to that," revealed an executive from Chongqing Polycomp International Corp. (CPIC). Recognized as the glass fiber industry's first National "Green Factory" in 2017, CPIC produces low-carbon-emission fiberglass products. These materials offer shock resistance, extreme-environment durability, and cost efficiency while enabling lightweight, recyclable solutions for construction, transportation, electronics, aerospace, and renewable energy. "With production bases in Bahrain (120,000-ton capacity), Brazil (80,000 tons), the U.S., and Morocco, our global network covers North America and Europe."

But what about waste from green manufacturing? Sanfeng Environment of Chongqing Water & Environment Group answers this with integrated waste-to-energy plants featuring zero-emission flue gas and leachate treatment. Having localized core waste incineration technologies, Sanfeng processes over 23,000 metric tons of waste daily, holds 340 patents, operates 15 Chongqing plants, and exports equipment to 10 countries.

As Chongqing's first municipal-level industrial park, Jianqiao hosts nearly 1,000 enterprises. "We attract investment through incentives and robust supply chains—not just land or policy concessions—with anchors like Hikvision drawing ecosystem partners," stated Guo Huan, Deputy Director of Chongqing Jianqiao Industrial Park Development Center. Housing 78 large-scale manufacturers, including one 10-billion-yuan ($1.392 billion) and nine 1-billion-yuan ($139.18 million) enterprises, the park boasts distinct industrial clusters. Its "Chongqing’s First Garden-Style Industrial Park," "National Greening Model Unit," "China Green & Low-Carbon Demonstration Zone," and "National Green Industrial Park" honors culminated in April 2023 with selection as a Chongqing pilot near-zero-carbon zone.
