Chongqing - Chongqing showcased its cultural and tourism strengths at the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo Tourism Exhibition, held from September 19 to 21, 2025, at the Guilin International Conference and Exhibition Center. The event, themed “Deepening China-ASEAN Cultural and Tourism Cooperation, Jointly Building the RCEP Tourism Economic Circle,” emphasized integrated cultural and tourism development, technology adoption, and sustainable growth. With a focus on expanding regional tourism collaboration, Chongqing played an active role in sessions such as the China-ASEAN Cross-Border Tourism Dialogue and tourism business matching, reinforcing its strategic position in the RCEP tourism economic circle.
To deepen engagement with ASEAN and Southeast Asian markets, the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development organized a delegation featuring officials and businesses from key districts such as Wulong, Fengdu, Shizhu, and Shapingba, as well as major scenic areas, travel agencies, and cultural enterprises. Aligned with the city’s goal to enhance tourism cooperation via the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, the delegation conducted wide-ranging promotional and negotiation activities, highlighting Chongqing’s commitment to regional partnerships.
Under the theme "Majestic Landscape, Dynamic Chongqing," Chongqing's exhibition area created an immersive experience with iconic features, including Hongyadong stilted buildings and a replica of its rail transit system. The booth drew significant attention through video displays, promotional materials, intangible cultural heritage exhibits, and creative souvenirs, illustrating Chongqing’s harmonious blend of natural beauty and urban vitality. A dedicated promotional session during the Expo further attracted industry professionals and visitors, fostering new collaboration opportunities.
