Chongqing – On October 14, the chili industry entered a new chapter of innovation as the All-Spice Experience Center opened at the Dezhuang Hotpot Museum in Chongqing's Nan'an District.
The launch marks a major milestone in bringing scientific precision to the world of spice. Chili heat can be expressed through a standardized numerical system with the center's opening, much like how °C measures temperature or % measures alcohol. This innovation allows diners around the world to enjoy spice at the exact level they prefer.

Industry leaders, scholars, and chili producers from across China attended the ceremony, including representatives from the China Association of Leading Agricultural Enterprises and the Chongqing Hotpot Association, who called the innovation a major step in modernizing traditional cuisine.
According to Li Yaqian, Director of the Dezhuang Hotpot Museum, the new system gives consumers worldwide a shared "language of spice". "The Spicy Scale is like a universal guide to heat. Whether you're in Chongqing, New York, or Paris, when you order a dish marked Level 12 on the Spicy Scale, you'll get the same perfect heat every time."
