This year’s festival features three national exhibitions — the National Exhibition of Outstanding Works of Fine Arts, the National Exhibition of Outstanding Works of Calligraphy and Sealcutting, and the National Exhibition of Outstanding Works of Photography — showcasing more than 1,100 outstanding pieces selected through invitations, regional recommendations, and public submissions. Among them are over 510 fine art works, 320 calligraphy and sealcutting works, and 290 photographic works.

The exhibitions are being held simultaneously in both regions: the National Exhibition of Outstanding Works of Fine Arts at the Art Museum of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, the National Exhibition of Outstanding Works of Calligraphy and Sealcutting at the Chongqing Art Museum,
and the National Exhibition of Outstanding Works of Photography at the Sichuan Art Museum.

In recent years, Chongqing’s art sector has made remarkable progress in professional creation.
At the 13th China Art Festival, 13 Chongqing art pieces were featured across the three national exhibitions, reflecting the city’s continuous exploration of thematic expression, artistic language, and creative spirit.

In the 14th National Exhibition of Fine Arts, Chongqing achieved its best results in history — winning one Gold and three Silver medals of the China Fine Arts Award, with 312 works selected and 53 exhibited in Beijing, ranking among the top five nationwide and first in western and central China.

Art That Connects with Life

According to the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development, this year’s exhibitions feature distinct themes, rich content, and diverse forms, presenting a vivid panorama of the times and embodying the enterprising spirit of the new era.

They play an important role in promoting the prosperity of fine arts and supporting the development of a culturally strong China.

During the exhibition period, a range of interactive programs — including lectures by renowned artists, guided tours, workshops, and “Art Museum Night” events — will invite the public to engage with art in immersive ways, transforming museums into open and welcoming cultural spaces where art becomes part of everyday life.

The exhibitions opened to the public following the launch ceremony on October 16 and will continue through November 16. Online exhibitions are also available, allowing audiences nationwide to experience the artistic achievements of this year’s festival.
