Chongqing - A freight train carrying 3,000 tons of corn from Xinjiang departed from Wusu Railway Station on October 21, heading toward the Chengdu-Chongqing region.

The inaugural train marks the official launch of the Sino-Singapore (Chongqing) Multimodal Transport Demonstration Base Wusu (Tacheng, Xinjiang) Central Asia Line, signaling both the operational start of a new logistics corridor and the opening of the Wusu transfer base.

The launch of the Wusu transfer base represents a milestone in the networked layout of the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Multimodal Transport Demonstration Base. Centered in Wusu, the base covers key regions including Tacheng, Altay, Ili, Aksu, and Kashgar, and through border ports such as Alashankou and Khorgos, extends its services toward the five Central Asian countries and Russia.

The transfer base combines Chongqing's port and customs capabilities with Xinjiang's westward gateway advantages, creating a link between the Silk Road Economic Belt and the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor and facilitating faster and more efficient access for key regional industries and specialty products to Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and Europe.

To ensure the smooth and sustainable operation of the Central Asia line, current resource reserves for the outbound route include poultry feed, agricultural supplies, knock-down parts for assembly, and petrochemical products, totaling approximately 36,000 to 60,000 tons. The company has secured grain, flaxseed, mung beans, and other agricultural products for the return route, totaling 52,000 to 68,000 tons.

As the operator of the Sino-Singapore (Chongqing) Multimodal Transport Demonstration Base, the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Multimodal Transport Development Co., Ltd. stated that it will continue to enhance base functions and optimize service offerings, aiming to develop the transfer base in Xinjiang into a high-efficiency, cost-effective, and reliable logistics hub for Eurasia.
