Chongqing - On November 5, 2025, the 7th China-Arab States Broadcasting and Television Cooperation Forum was held in Chongqing. This grand event once again connected the Yangtze River and the Nile through airwaves and screens, revitalizing the ancient Silk Road spirit in the digital age.
In an exclusive interview with iChongqing, Mr. Khaled Abdel Aziz, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation of the Arab Republic of Egypt, elaborated on the strategic importance of this bilateral cooperation and shared his vision for future collaborative initiatives.
"Given the rapid evolution of the media landscape and regional dynamics, an exchange of expertise is essential," Mr. Abdel Aziz stated. "We must learn from each other's experiences."He praised China's remarkable developmental achievements in political, economic, and social fields as "an inspiration to the entire world." He highlighted Egypt's keen interest in studying China's methods for raising public awareness, disseminating culture, and leveraging media power.
Mr. Abdel Aziz pointed to Chongqing's role as a vital bridge in China-Arab relations, noting the success of the "When the Yangtze Meets the Nile" cultural dialogue series held in Egypt this past September. He stated that such ongoing exchanges are fundamental to deepening mutual understanding between two foundational civilizations. "Both Chinese and Egyptian civilizations have significantly influenced their regions," he said. "This continuous cultural exchange offers invaluable experience, showing how we navigate global challenges and benefit from one another."
Looking forward, the Chairman outlined three priority areas for enhancing bilateral media cooperation: Joint Content Production, Digital Expertise Sharing, and Training Exchanges. "These collaborative activities are the most practical way for media professionals from both countries to gain new insights and ultimately serve their nations in a broader context," Mr. Abdel Aziz concluded.
