Youtubers in Chongqing: Where Navigation Apps All Fail | Vlog

Chongqing - When overseas influencers come to Chongqing, they quickly learn that reality here is more fantastical than any virtual world. Recently, iChongqing journalist Julius guided a group of popular content creators from the U.S. and Canada—Nelkboys—through the city’s mind-bending urban landscape. In just one day, the group explored three iconic sites, each challenging their perception of what a city can be.

Their first stop was Kui Xing Tower, where a single building appears to be on the ground floor from one side, but from the opposite side, it’s on the 22nd floor. The sheer vertical drop left them repeatedly exclaiming, “WTF!” Next, en route to Liziba Monorail Station, the group got completely lost in Chongqing’s labyrinthine streets—a common experience even for locals. Eventually, under Julius’ guidance, they boarded the Line 2 train and witnessed the surreal moment when it glided along the river and pierced directly through a residential building. The journey culminated at Sujiaba Overpass, nicknamed “the roller coaster in the sky.” As their bus spiraled upward along the dramatically elevated ramps, the visitors couldn’t help but yell, “Drive slow!”—a mix of thrill and disbelief. While Chongqing has already gained global fame as a viral “8D city,” it continues to attract overseas influencers eager to capture its unique charm.

From gravity-defying architectures to vertigo-inducing roads, the city never fails to spark wonder. Chongqing warmly welcomes creators and travelers from around the world to explore, experience, and share the extraordinary stories of Chongqing—helping this mountain city’s magic spread even farther.
