China's Service Trade Rises 7.5 Percent in First 10 Months

Beijing - China's service trade maintained steady growth in the first 10 months of the year, with total imports and exports reaching nearly 6.58 trillion yuan (about 930.5 billion U.S. dollars), up 7.5 percent year on year, the Ministry of Commerce said on Wednesday.

Specifically, service exports rose 14.3 percent to over 2.9 trillion yuan in this period, while imports increased 2.6 percent to more than 3.67 trillion yuan, according to the ministry's data. Notably, the service trade deficit narrowed by 269.39 billion yuan compared to the same period of 2024.

Knowledge-intensive services saw continued growth in trade, with imports and exports totaling roughly 2.51 trillion yuan -- up 6.4 percent year on year.

Travel service trade totaled almost 1.81 trillion yuan, an increase of 8.5 percent compared with a year earlier. Meanwhile, travel services exports surged 52.5 percent during this period, data revealed.
