In 2025, China identified and assisted over 7 million individuals through its monitoring system, effectively eliminating their risk of returning to poverty, the ministry said.
It also said that education, health care, housing and drinking water security have been enhanced steadily for those who have emerged from poverty.
To date, 832 counties that have shaken off poverty have each developed two to three leading industries with distinctive advantages and strong driving force.
Employment of Chinese people who have been lifted out of poverty has remained stable at over 30 million, securing more than two-thirds of the total incomes of households that have bid farewell to poverty.
In the first three quarters of 2025, the per capita disposable income of rural residents in counties having bid farewell to poverty reached 13,158 yuan (1,859.71 U.S. dollars), outpacing the growth rate of China's rural areas by 0.5 percentage points.
