Chongqing - Chongqing Chengfei New Materials Co., Ltd., a unit of Chongqing Machinery & Electronics Holding Group, has recently delivered its 10,000th set of wind turbine blades for Goldwind’s Gulf of Suez II wind project in Egypt, as the company increases production to meet growing global demand.
The GOSII wind farm is located along Egypt’s Red Sea coast and is operated by Red Sea Wind Energy. The project has a total installed capacity of 650 megawatts, comprising a 500-MW initial phase and a 150-MW expansion. It completed full grid connection in June 2025 and announced full commercial operation in early July, with electricity sold under a 25-year power purchase agreement with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company.
According to a representative from Chengfei New Materials, since the start of 2025 the company has responded to strong demand and tight delivery schedules by optimizing production planning and strengthening coordination across its manufacturing bases to boost capacity. Its Gansu base focuses on onshore ultra-large-megawatt blade production; its Jiangsu base supports overseas supply and can switch between multiple blade models; and its Xinjiang and Jilin bases have also improved capacity and efficiency.
Across its sites, the company said all 20 production lines are now in operation to support deliveries. Year to date, it has put more than 1,100 blade sets into inventory, equivalent to approximately 9.7 gigawatts of installed capacity, up 43.7 percent year on year.
In terms of overseas expansion, the company said it has completed deliveries for 31 wind-farm projects across 17 countries, including Argentina, Chile, and the Philippines.
Related third-party operations and maintenance orders and sales revenue have doubled. The company said it has provided hoisting guidance and operations-and-maintenance support for more than 40 international projects in 15 countries, including South Africa, Argentina, and Türkiye, covering over 500 blade sets.
On the technology side, Chengfei New Materials has brought seven new wind blade models in the 80–110 meter range into mass production this year and is advancing core research such as airfoil testing to support next-generation designs.
The company said it was recognized this year as a “Little Giant” enterprise, a national designation for specialized and sophisticated small and medium-sized enterprises in China. It was also included on a recommended list of companies for recycling retired wind-power equipment and received supplier awards from major customers, including Goldwind and Windey Energy Technology Group Co., Ltd.
