Chongqing - Chinese robotics firm Unitree scored a dual breakthrough as the Shanghai Stock Exchange accepted its IPO prospectus and it launched the Unitree Embodied Intelligent Robots Western Innovation and Operation Center in Chongqing on March 26.

Unitree specializes in high-performance general-purpose robots, focusing on the R&D, production, and sales of quadruped and humanoid robots, core components, and embodied AI algorithms.

According to its prospectus, the company recorded revenue of 1.17 billion yuan (168.9 million U.S. dollars) and a non-recurring net profit of 431 million yuan from January to September 2025, reflecting an increase in financial performance and sustained profitability.

Following the IPO acceptance, Unitree moved quickly to penetrate China's western market. Construction of the Center is currently underway and will soon house a dedicated embodied AI laboratory, a quadruped robot R&D center, and a humanoid robot data collection hub.

During a site visit on March 26, the Founder of Unitree, Wang Xingxing praised Chongqing’s investment efficiency and industrial support for emerging sectors. Wang expressed strong confidence in future growth, noting that Chongqing’s industrial foundation and talent pool provide a solid basis for transitioning embodied AI from research to real-world applications.

On the same day, Secretary of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee, Yuan Jiajun met with Wang’s delegation. The two sides reached a deep consensus on accelerating the integration of artificial intelligence and manufacturing.

Yuan stated that Chongqing is driving the dual empowerment of AI and Digital Chongqing, fostering key industrial clusters such as new energy vehicles (NEVs), low-altitude economy, and embodied AI. He urged Unitree to leverage Chongqing’s regional and industrial strengths to create landmark AI innovations in industrial manufacturing, urban safety, and public services.

In response, Wang confirmed that Unitree will utilize the diverse scenarios offered by Chongqing’s modernization to deploy robots across firefighting, industry, cultural tourism, and education, helping the city become a leading national hub for AI applications.
