Harbin - On May 17, the 10th China-Russia Expo opened at the Harbin International Conference Exhibition and Sports Center, where Chongqing showcased its industrial strengths, consumer brands, and cultural vitality.

Chongqing brought 13 companies from 10 districts and counties to the expo, using the event to promote trade ties, cultural exchange and international cooperation. Inspired by the city’s dramatic skyline, the Chongqing Pavilion features a layered urban-style design aimed at showcasing the municipality’s modern and globally connected image.

The exhibition showcased Chongqing’s advances in sectors including advanced manufacturing, smart technology, modern agriculture, healthcare, food processing and cultural products. The displays highlighted the city’s push to upgrade industry, boost consumption and drive rural revitalization as part of its broader economic transformation.

The advanced manufacturing section of the Chongqing Pavilion spotlighted the city’s growing industrial strength and global ambitions. Companies including Qingling Motors, ORAW and Carest Precision Technology showcased “Made in Chongqing” products ranging from high-end equipment and smart control systems to precision components.

A green aerial work vehicle from Qingling Motors emerged as one of the Chongqing Pavilion’s biggest attractions, drawing strong interest from both Chinese and overseas visitors exploring potential business partnerships. Chongqing also put its food and beverage industry in the spotlight, with local brands showcasing products including plum wine, hotpot seasoning and NFC orange juice. A busy tasting zone became one of the pavilion’s most popular attractions, giving visitors a chance to experience Chongqing flavors while connecting with exhibitors over potential business opportunities.

“Food is the best international language,” a representative of the Chongqing delegation said, noting that immersive tasting experiences help overseas buyers discover Chongqing, remember the city, and consider future investment opportunities.

Counties across Chongqing also showcased their unique agricultural and cultural products. High-altitude edible mushrooms from Chengkou’s Rongbin Agriculture and eco-friendly teas from Jiming Tea Industry drew strong buyer interest for their quality and sustainability. Traditional horn carvings from Dianjiang Yingchun Arts and Crafts also stood out, highlighting Bashu-region craftsmanship. Direct interactions at the booth helped connect buyers with exhibitors and resulted in several cooperation deals.

Chongqing’s participation in the expo demonstrated the city’s progress in building modern manufacturing clusters and developing itself into an inland hub for open economic growth, officials from the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce said. Leveraging its strengths in logistics, industry, and connectivity, Chongqing aims to expand practical cooperation with Russia in areas such as intelligent manufacturing, healthcare, and agricultural processing.
