Chongqing - On the evening of July 4, a lawn concert at the Youjian Apartments complex in Dadukou District turned an ordinary summer night into an unexpected celebration of community spirit. Local singers and bands performed on stage while more than a hundred young residents - tenants, food-delivery riders, and e-commerce workers - swayed to the music. But the evening's highlight came during the open-mic session, when several delivery couriers stepped up to sing, marking the first time these frontline workers, who typically rush through city streets unnoticed, found themselves in the spotlight of their own community.

Titled "Lawn Soundwave · Youjian Bazaar Concert," the event featured creative goods and services that ran alongside the concert. During the event, several companies distributed summer care packages to delivery riders and couriers, addressing their essential needs for heat relief. The gesture added a tangible layer of support to the "Yuqing · Courier Service Station" public welfare initiative.

"I usually work at a fast pace under high pressure, with little time to relax," said Mr. Li, a resident of Youjian Apartments. "This event was refreshing - I could enjoy music, browse stalls, and meet new people right at my doorstep. It made the community feel more vibrant and welcoming."
For Xiao Zhang, a food-delivery rider, the experience was personal: "I always thought events like this weren't meant for people like me. But this time, I truly felt seen and cared for. The atmosphere was so warm - I could leave work stress behind and chat with people without any barriers. It gives me more confidence to keep going in this city."
Youjian Apartments, home to a large concentration of young professionals and e-commerce practitioners, serves as a key hub for youth services in Dadukou. Organizers said the event used music as a medium and charity as a bridge, specifically addressing the needs of three groups - emerging-sector youth, shared-rental young tenants, and young talent. By combining practical support with community connection, it transformed young people from passive bystanders into visible, valued protagonists of community life.
