2026 Chongqing International Travel Agents Conference North America Session Held in Chongqing

This August, the North America session of the 2026 Chongqing International Travel Agents Conference opened, bringing around 160 tourism industry representatives from the U.S. and Canada to Chongqing in partnership with Ensemble Travel Group, North America’s most influential travel trade network. It was one of the largest North American travel industry visits to the Three Gorges region in recent years. It was also the first major North American travel delegation to visit Chongqing since the city was designated a national tourism hub city and a key destination for inbound tourism in July. What impressions did Chongqing’s tourism resources leave on these visitors from afar? In this episode, we spoke with David, President and CEO of Century Cruises USA, to hear his insights.

A Night of Meteors: Why Are People Willing to Wait All Night?

Recently, iChongqing’s Russian host Natalia traveled to Fairy Mountain in Wulong to wait for the Perseid meteor shower. On the mountain meadow in the early hours of the morning, people had driven for hours to get there, lying quietly beneath the night sky. Some came with friends, some with their families, while others carried cameras and tripods, all waiting for the brief moment when a meteor streaked across the sky. In an age increasingly focused on speed and efficiency, why are people still willing to spend an entire night waiting? Perhaps some experiences cannot be rushed, and their meaning lies precisely in the waiting itself.

Jon Steingard: Why Did He Write City of Light for Chongqing?

Recently, Canadian singer Jon Steingard wrote a song for Chongqing titled City of Light. The song quickly gained attention online and sparked interest among audiences in China and abroad in Chongqing, a mountain city known for its futuristic skyline and dazzling lights. What makes the story even more unusual is that Jon had never visited Chongqing when he wrote the song. In an interview, he said, “I didn’t just want to write a simple promotional song for Chongqing. I wanted to write something genuinely good for the city, and I don’t think that would have been possible without a real love for Chongqing.”In this episode, hear Jon share the story behind City of Light.

A Song Written for Chongqing Gets a Response

Jon wrote a song about Chongqing, and the Let’s Meet team responded with a video of its own. Inspired by the song, the Let’s Meet team created a Chongqing-themed music video. After it was released, the video received positive feedback from viewers and even a personal response from Jon himself. The team also invited Jon on social media to visit Chongqing in the future. And so, a musical interaction spanning thousands of miles gained a new chapter. Let’s take a look.

《Let’s Meet》 airs every Wednesday and Saturday at 6:00 p.m. and is simultaneously released across Chongqing Satellite TV, the official Let's Meet WeChat Channels account, the official Let's Meet YouTube channel, the Bridging News app, the iChongqing website, iChongqing's Facebook account and YouTube channel, as well as WCICO's global communication network and Chongqing Satellite TV's new media platforms.
