Chongqing - The Jiulongpo District of Chongqing Municipality is making a big push for building the Jiulong Art Culture Peninsula as a part of its ongoing effort to develop the Yangtze River Culture and Art Bay Area. Located by the riverside in the district's east, the Jiulong Art Culture Peninsula is an integral part of the "Art Bay," one of Chongqing's six new calling cards. Now, it has been home to more than 500 cultural creativity enterprises and a great number of people working in the profession of art.

At Huangjueping, there lives a cohort of people or "Huang drifters" who are far away from their hometown because of their beliefs and dreams about art.

As the appellation of "Huang drifters" implies, Huangjueping means a lot for people who pursue fine arts.

Building "Chongqing Fine Arts Park" will be one of Jiulongpo District's focuses. Covering a total area of about 73.33 hectares on the Jiulong Peninsula, "Chongqing Fine Arts Park" will be supported by the Huangjueping Campus of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, centered around the industrial ruins of Chongqing power generation plant, and shaped by Jiulong riverside ecological area. Therefore, Jiulongpo District plans to beef up efforts in freeing up space, project construction, overall planning, industrial upgrading, ecological restoration, improving education on culture, civility and arts of the populace, and other aspects in terms of pace, quality, and efficiency in the coming three years as it seeks to inject new blood into the Jiulong Art Culture Peninsula.

Huangjueping Graffiti Art Street has been reinvented with the participation of the works of more than ten renowned artists, including Luo Zhongli, Pang Maokun, and Zhang Xiaogang; Huangzheng Street, Fine Arts Project, has been completed where odd-shaped beacon, brightly colored pathway, and other interesting things have attracted a lot of visitors.

One body of international consumption center city

Last year, Chongqing took the lead in developing an international consumption center city. In response, Jiulongpo business district will shoulder the function and mission of the core carrier of the international consumption center city and build itself into a "business district of world renown."

Over the past years, the business district has been focusing on the iteration of commercial carriers by promoting a host of large commercial carriers such as Jiangsha Xingguanghui and ASUS to realize upgrading and iteration. In the meanwhile, the business district has made a concentrated effort on improving commercial quality by attracting Hema Fresh, Zhong Shu Ge bookstore, Suning Retail Cloud Store, Grand Cinema, and others to set up their first branch in Chongqing and Hermes, Prada, Cartier, and other international famous brands to open stores. By doing so, it aims to keep driving the high-quality development of "Jiulong new business district" and has made remarkable achievements.

Last year, Jiulong's new business district was home to more than 300 famous brands from both home and abroad and had an average daily footfall of more than 300,000, a growth rate of over 20% in the retail sales of consumer goods, and a total number of more than 90,000 market entities. MixC Chongqing alone recorded an annual sales revenue of more than 5.6 billion yuan, ranking first among Chongqing's shopping centers.

Moreover, Jiulong's new business district has also grown by leaps and bounds in developing digital consumption, cross-border e-commerce, producer services, and other aspects. So far, Chongqing China Resources Plaza, Torch Building, Yugao Future Building, and other buildings that contribute hundreds of millions of yuan to the city's tax revenue have been built, and six non-ferrous metal enterprises such as Xingmao Xinke have been introduced. An industrial cluster for non-ferrous trade has taken shape.
