Good news! You can scan the QR code on WeChat, Alipay, and UnionPay Mobile QuickPass APP to take Chongqing buses. On December 11, the “Chongqing Public Traffic QR Code” launched on WeChat and Alipay quietly, and “Chongqing Bus QR Code” of UnionPay Mobile QuickPass APP also came into effect.

Instantly Available without Top-Up

The QR code of Chongqing buses is an online QR code provided by Alipay and authorized by CHONGQING PAYEASY and Chongqing Public Traffic Group. Passengers just need to get a “Chongqing Public Traffic QR Code” on Alipay APP and scan it when getting on a bus.

Passengers can turn on the QR code for free with a few steps on WeChat, Alipay, and UnionPay Mobile QuickPass APP, and use it immediately without recharge and deposit.

Pay after Taking the Bus

The bus POS machine, with the function of code scanning, is obviously different from the traditional one. The scanning area of the former is at the upward side of the display screen. But a new “scanning QR code” area is added at the downward side of the screen. Passengers scan their QR code in this area.

When using the QR code through WeChat and Alipay, passengers can pay after taking the bus. In other words, as long as the QR code is scanned, passengers can take the bus without waiting for the confirmation of the payment, and then WeChat and Alipay will automatically deduct funds from the set payment channel.

The WeChat bus QR code supports offline scanning, which is specified in the service description. Thus, passengers can normally use the “QR code” on WeChat even their mobile phone cannot get signal.
