Chongqing- The Smart China Expo (SCE) 2022 opened in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality on August 22. Since the first SCE in 2018, the SCE has injected strong momentum into the city's intelligence industry and industrial upgrading.

Seizing the Intelligent Manufacturing Highland

Among the best examples is Yubei District, where the Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport locates.

In the first half of 2022, the emerging electronic industry of Yubei achieved an output value of 83.66 billion yuan, an increase of 3.9%. The output value of the following four emerging industries increased by 10.3% year-on-year: intelligent equipment, consumer goods, new materials, and smart building, contributing 38.5% to the region's output value growth. Yubei District's entire software and information industry generated 30 billion yuan in revenue in 2021, accounting for 12% of the city's total and growing over 20%. 

The outstanding achievements have reflected Yubei District's ambition to develop intelligent industry and helped Yubei District develop a reputation as Chongqing's "manufacturing powerhouse" and "famous smart city."

Successive Settlement of Major Projects

The intelligence industry is accelerating the pace of updating and iteration. Yubei District has been accelerating intelligent development projects in the past few years.

These newly-launched projects have supported Yubei's smart manufacturing development, including BICV, Liando U Valley, Zhongguancun Collaborative Innovation Center, cloud headquarters of Ziguang Construction, and Chang'an Kaicheng Automobile.

The intelligent network automobile industry, an emerging intelligent industry developed by Yubei based on the strengths of the regional automobile industry scale, has achieved remarkable development. It focuses on the electrification trends in automobiles by concentrating more on creating typical application scenarios, such as automobile networking and 5G automatic driving.

Furthermore, Yubei District has made remarkable achievements in intelligent terminals. The production of smartphones in Yubei now accounts for 70% of the city's total output due to continuous and increasing investment by OPPO, a global leader in smart devices. For every 16 mobile phones produced worldwide, there is one "Made in Yubei Chongqing."

Vigorous Development of the Big Data Industry 

Keeping up with 5G, artificial intelligence, and other technology frontiers, Yubei District has promoted the high-quality development of big data in the social economy. 

There are 39 digital workshops and intelligent factory projects in Yubei District, contributing to the rapid development of enterprise intelligent manufacturing. 

Regarding big data application infrastructure, Yubei District has built 5,695 5G base stations and more than 10,000 4G base stations, covering 100% of urban household gigabit optical fiber networks.

In the industrial manufacturing application field of big data, the whole district has implemented the industrial internet based on OPPO for intelligent terminal production area layout and has completed the construction of 15 application scenarios, such as 5G for smart terminal manufacturers plus typical applications in the industrial field.
