Chongqing Branch of China Post Group Corporation held the first Postal Culture Exhibition from August 20 to the end of September with displays at six Chongqing Rail Transit (CRT) stations.

The various exhibition areas attracted a lot of residents nearly one month from their start and soon became highly popular on social platforms. The number of visitors peaked during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, and the exhibition was well-received. The Call for Relics of Postal Culture was issued at the same time. Some residents donated stamps, post-themed desk calendars, stamp collecting cards, and other objects.

Guanyinqiao Station

• An Interpretation of the 2,500-year history of postal culture in Chongqing

As the main exhibition area among the six stations, Guanyinqiao Station shows the most significant details. It illustrates the historical development of post services in Chongqing - postal communication in Chongqing began in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, with a history of more than 2,500 years. Its development has been accompanied by the civilization and progress of the Bayu region, and postal communication has played an important role in facilitating administration, commerce, and people-to-people ties.

Postal relics corresponding to the historical progress of postal services in Chongqing are shown simultaneously, which is fun. For example, there are tiger-shaped tallies, bronze wine vessels for ritual purposes, estafette pictures from ancient times, old-fashioned postal cars, postmarks, and telegrams from the Republic of China era. Mr. Xia, a 61-year-old resident and history buff, believed that displaying historical stories about postal services and old objects can better involve visitors and convey the charm of Chongqing's postal culture and history.

A spot for taking photos has been set up in the exhibition area, with a "Forever" bicycle, a messenger bag used by postmen in the past, an old-fashioned mailbox, and a standing sign with estafette pictures. Zhou, a college student and volunteer at the site, said the spot attracted many residents. Since the exhibition's launched, an endless stream of people have come here to take photos daily.

There is also a holographic projector in the exhibition area. With a touch on the screen, you will see various exquisite post-themed creative products from 360 degrees and feel the charm and power of technology.

Niujiaotuo Station

• To Send a Postcard to Yourself for Next Year

In the Niujiaotuo exhibition area are postman's uniforms, messenger bags, "Forever" bicycles, postal certificates, licenses, cards, and epaulets from various periods.

Residents are most attracted to the "To Send a Postcard to Yourself of Next Year" event. Everyone can get a postcard here for free, write on it whatever they want to say, and put it into the mailbox here. They will receive the postcard from themselves next year.

Shapingba Station

• An Overview of Landscapes in Chongqing on the Stamps
• Location: Shapingba Station Hall of CRT Line 9

The exhibition area revolves around the theme of "Chongqing on Stamps." It is known from the introduction in the exhibition area that since the founding of the People's Republic of China, over 30 sets of stamps with themes around Chongqing have been issued, including figures, buildings, cultural relics, arts and crafts, traditional Chinese paintings, scenic spots, sports events, international conferences, major events, etc.

It can be seen from the stamps on the exhibition board that the earliest stamps in Chongqing were issued in 1890 AD. One may enjoy the beauty of Stone Arch Jiuxigou Bridge in Fengdu from the stamps under the theme "Highway Arch Bridge" issued in 1978 and the original stilted buildings in Chongqing from those titled "Residential Buildings."

Xingke Avenue Station

• The Brave and Fearless Postmen

The stories about the employees of Chongqing Post during the War of Resistance are told in this exhibition area.

During the War of Resistance, Chongqing Post, the postal center in China, faced severe challenges. During 1939 and August 1941, the Japanese army blew up at least 20 post offices in Eastern Sichuan Post District, such as Duyou Street, Daxigou, Fotuguan, and Daliangzi. Several central post offices, such as Eastern Sichuan Post Administration Bureau, and those in Guanyinyan, Caiyuanba, and other places, were also severely damaged, with the mail, bills, and office buildings destroyed.

Many brave employees of Chongqing Post worked together to combat the hard times. Among them were Zhou Haoliang, who used his wits to distribute Xinhua Daily, and Hu Ming, who served as a secret liaison and made great contributions to the War of Resistance.
