Chongqing- As the First large-scale competition for engineers, the Excellent Engineers Competition of 2022 Chongqing Talents Conference with the theme of "Pursuing Excellence, Creating the Future with Wisdom" kicked off recently in Southwest China's Chongqing.

The competition aims to help Chongqing build into a sci-tech innovation center with national influence, boost the development of Chongqing as a "Smart Manufacturing Powerhouse" and a "Renowned Smart City," and advance the development of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.

The competition consists of two contests: the Open Competition for Overcoming Difficulties and the Innovation Challenges.

The Open Competition for Overcoming Difficulties is mainly for qualified enterprises and public institutions, scientific research institutes, new research and development institutions, and other units to solicit technical breakthrough needs and release the demand list to society. The competition welcomes qualified engineers (teams) at home and abroad to participate.

While the Innovation Challenge is for engineers (teams) at home and abroad with R&D achievements or products, innovative technologies and patents, and qualified start-ups. The project incubation and landing will be realized through road shows, expert reviews, and investment and financing institutions docking.

Both contests will be held in eight professional fields, including the new generation of information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, new materials, new energy and intelligent Internet-connected vehicles (including industrial supporting facilities), biomedicine and health, modern agriculture and food, energy conservation and environmental protection, and other industrial fields.

Chongqing ranks among the top domestic smart city development as a land of natural beauty and a city with cultural appeal. It accelerates sci-tech innovation while improving quality, thereby gaining traction in innovative development.
