The opening ceremony, or prologue, will feature a fireworks display, a light show, and a drone and sky lantern performance, showcasing the unique cultural heritage of Fengdu.
The "Millennium Blessed Land" chapter will include six events: the fair temple parade, a night tour of the ghost city, an electronic music festival, Buddha worship, and other traditional cultural activities.
The fireworks chapter will host ten events, including the light show "Fuducheng's Love," the "Sing Out Fengdu" concert, the magical international clown carnival, and the hotpot banquet.
One of the fair's traditional events is the "Street Parade," a long-standing part of the Fengdu Temple Fair. This year's parade will take place in the famous mountain scenic area of Fustreet, blending traditional and modern elements.
The parade will consist of three groups: the Thousand-Year Legend, the Eight Corners Coming to Congratulate, and the Celebration of All Creatures, highlighting the fusion of traditional and modern cultures. Additionally, the parade will feature intangible cultural heritage exhibitions such as wooden stick play and drum dance.
The fair will also provide a unique culinary experience with local delicacies. One of the highlights is the "Thousand-People Cow Hotpot Banquet," which will bring together a hundred renowned local beef catering enterprises to prepare a 200-meter-long banquet table, accommodating up to 1,000 people at once.
The Fengdu Temple Fair has a long history and serves as a window into the rich culture and heritage of Fengdu. The fair has transformed into large-scale tourism, a cultural and commercial event that draws visitors worldwide. It was recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2014.
