Chongqing - On April 25th, Discover Chongqing · Colorful Latin American and Caribbean Cultural Season was launched in Chongqing, aiming to build a new platform for communication between China and foreign countries and explore new paradigms of international communication.

Aldo Alvarez, the Salvadoran Ambassador to China, attended the event and appeared on the live program "Music Journey" of Chongqing Music Radio. He shared Salvadoran music and local customs with the program listeners. 

During the ceremony, Mou Fengjing, the President of CBG, expressed his warm welcome to the ambassador. The group innovatively created the "Discover Chongqing" international cultural exchange brand IP, aiming to use the media as a bridge to spread the voice of China and tell the story of Chongqing. 

Ambassador Aldo Alvarez expressed his pleasure in visiting Chongqing and gathering with everyone. He said it is his duty and mission to spread Salvadoran culture.

"This year marks the fifth anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between China and El Salvador, a significant milestone that El Salvador values," he said.

Through the activities, he hopes to enhance mutual cultural understanding and promote cultural exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in economics and culture. The ambassador invited the people of Chongqing to visit El Salvador and experience the rich local culture.

Zhou Yi, Deputy Director of the Chongqing Municipal People's Government Foreign Affairs Office, added that El Salvador has a splendid and long-standing cultural heritage. In the first phase of the Colorful Latin American and Caribbean Cultural Season, people can enjoy Salvadoran music, learn about its culture, deepen their understanding of El Salvador, and enhance friendships between the people.

It is worth noting that El Salvador participated in the Belt and Road Initiative in 2018. the country is an important partner for China in Latin America and the Caribbean. 

Located in the northern part of Central America, El Salvador borders the Pacific Ocean to the west, with a land area of more than 20,000 square kilometers and a population of about 6.5 million. 

It is one of Central America's most densely populated countries and one of the birthplaces of ancient Maya culture. With many volcanoes, it is known as the "country of volcanoes" and is a gathering place for eco-travel enthusiasts.
