Chongqing - A delegation of 40 brand enterprises from Chongqing in advanced manufacturing and distinctive agriculture was selected for the 2023 China Brand Day event, which kicked off at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center Wednesday.

“Made in Chongqing,” smart automobile product debuted

As one of the leading automobile manufacturers in Chongqing, Seres Group Co., Ltd presented two models, AITO Wenjie M5 and AITO Wenjie M5 EV, at the 2023 China Brand Day event. Both are based on the DE-i Super Electric Drive Intelligent Technology Platform, which delivers excellent performance and endurance.

Seres developed the DE-i Super Electric Drive Intelligent Technology Platform based on its strong research and development capabilities. 

The Platform consists of several units, including a range extender 1.5T four-cylinder engine, three-in-one electric drive system, high-capacity power-type battery pack, vehicle control unit (VCU), motor control unit (MCU), generator control unit (GCU), and battery management system (BMS). It is a leader in range-extended electric vehicle technology.

In addition, Seres will also ensure the ultra-long battery life of new energy vehicles from three additional aspects.

First, AITO Wenjie M5 electric vehicles have won the Five-star certification for charging compatibility from China Automotive Technology and Research Center, which is compatible with over 97% of public charging piles and 35 charging pile operators, allowing for convenient charging anytime. Second, intelligent route planning for charging along the way helps drivers choose optimal routes and charging plans. Finally, even in an emergency, the super power-saving mode can increase the range by 12 kilometers.

According to Seres Group’s 2022 annual report, the company achieved an operating income of RMB 34.105 billion (about USD 4.925 billion) in 2022, with revenue from new energy vehicles accounting for 73.1% of the company’s operating income, reaching RMB 24.934 billion (about USD 3.6 billion), an increase of 482.8% YoY.

Leading domestic industrial service provider in the intelligent era

As the first hard-tech artificial intelligence enterprise incubated by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, Theseus Sci&Tech brought a 3D binocular structured light camera that integrates unique structured light encoding and phase unwrapping technology.

It can realize one-time three-dimensional imaging of objects with a large field of view and high depth of field, and its repeatability precision reaches the micron level. This technology can be applied to industrial field mechanical arm-guided unordered grabbing and loading and unloading assembly scenes.

“Our goal is to become the leading domestic industrial service provider in the intelligent era,” said Zheng Daoqin, chairman of Theseus Sci & Tech. “And it has become an industry consensus that local technology companies provide technical support for industry leaders.”

Zheng believes that the localization of technology support can first solve the needs for rapid response, localized delivery, after-sales service, technology iteration, and partial customized development.

“Moreover, whether from the perspective of Chongqing or the country, the rise of local manufacturing industry leaders must have a strong support of the technology chain, especially when it comes to high-precision manufacturing, high-brand premium products,” Zheng added.

In cases of foreign supporting technologies restrict the supply to local Chinese enterprises. “These have affected the development of China’s manufacturing industry,” Zheng continued. “Only by deploying a local technology chain around the local industrial chain can a good symbiotic relationship be formed.”
