Chongqing - The CCI-ILSTC Regional Cooperation Forum was held on July 18 in Singapore.
Yuan Jiajun, Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Chongqing Municipal Committee, delivered a keynote speech. Josephine Teo, Singapore's Minister for Communications and Information and Second Minister for Home Affairs, and other esteemed guests from Chongqing and Singapore, contributed significant inputs and ideas.
All attendees witnessed the launch of the Chongqing Cross-Border Digital Trade Development Strategic Cooperation and expressed high expectations for the new plans involving Chongqing and CCI-ILSTC.

Participants agree that high-quality developments in logistics, the flow of capital, talent, data, green and low-carbon transformation, and industrial integration position the CCI-ILSTC to become a strong driver for regional development and the creation of new investment opportunities.
Representatives from government departments, business groups, and media outlets from China, Singapore, and countries along the New International Land-sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC) convened at the forum to discuss cooperation and future development under the theme of Joining Efforts for CCI-ILSTC, Sharing Diverse New Opportunities.

In his address, Yuan highlighted the importance of the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Project on Strategic Connectivity (CCI). He said the initiative had implemented an efficient mechanism emphasizing cooperation in key areas and has become a critical link deepening the bilateral relationship between China and Singapore.
Josephine Teo discussed the role of CCI-ILSTC in enabling Southeast Asia and Western China to leverage each other's strengths. By integrating land and maritime routes, the CCI-ILSTC offers a more direct connection between these regions, leading to time and cost savings for traders and consumers.

Teo continued that improved connectivity and access to new markets make both regions more appealing investment destinations, not only to each other but also to global investors.
Sun Haiyan, Chinese Ambassador to Singapore, commented on Chongqing's strategic position. He said, "Chongqing is a key node connecting the Silk Roads by land and sea. Today, Chongqing stands at a new height, with a solid foundation to contribute to the new positioning of China-Singapore relations, Chinese-style modernization, and the construction of the Belt and Road."

During his visit to Singapore, Yuan Jiajun toured the iHealthtech and the I-FIM, two National University of Singapore research institutions. Professors Lin and Novoselov introduced new medical technology transformation achievements and research & application of new materials.
Yuan expressed hope that talents in educational science & technology from Chongqing and Singapore would strengthen exchanges and deepen cooperation to create a better future.
The forum marked the launch of the Cross-Border Digital Trade Platform. Six parties, including the Chongqing Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, Ant Group, Proxtera, ANEXT Bank, and China Construction Bank Chongqing Branch, pledged to co-develop cross-border digital trade, highlighting the high-quality development of Chongqing's cross-border trade with digitalization.
The signing parties excel in comprehensive services, financial innovation, and digital globalization. The collaboration aims to integrate the construction of Digital Chongqing, the ILSTC, CCI, the Western Financial Center, the international consumption center city, and the China-Singapore international data corridor. Cross-border e-commerce business targeting ASEAN countries will be in full swing.
Chongqing is looking forward to attracting more cross-border e-commerce platforms to develop businesses aimed at ASEAN countries and encourages these platforms to establish cross-border e-commerce featured manufacturing parks in Chongqing.
