Chongqing - At the 31st FISU World University Games in Chengdu, China's Sichuan Province, visitors around the globe were amazed by an array of Chongqing-made products. One of them is Rongbao, the panda mascot as Chengdu is known for its panda-breeding center.
Rongbao is made by Topwin Toy (Chongqing) Limited, a renowned toy manufacturer in Fuling District of Chongqing. Another remarkable creation is the main torch tower of the University Games, skillfully crafted by the Chongqing Iron and Steel Company.
"The University Games serves as a remarkable platform to showcase the cultural abundance and economic strength of China," said Mars Wei, general manager of Cushman & Wakefield Chongqing. "It also fosters valuable exchanges and collaborations with the global community."

Holding exclusive rights to Rongbao's franchise supplier, Topwin Toy specializes in technology research and development, along with producing and operating a diverse range of electronics, plush, plastic toys, and related products.
"Drawing inspiration from the beloved panda, the design of Rongbao combined with regional culture and fashion elements like the face changing in Sichuan opera and hot pot," said Ken Huang, general manager of Topwin Toy.
Crafting this endearing mascot was no easy feat. As Huang mentioned, "Our talented team worked tirelessly, refining the design through more than 20 iterations, ensuring that every detail was perfect."

Beyond the Chengdu Games, Topwin Toy is no stranger to large-scale sports events, as it was deeply involved in producing various cultural and creative products, including animation derivatives for numerous mascots.
Bing Dwen Dwen and Shuey Rhon Rhon, the iconic mascots for the 2022 Winter Olympics, also come from them. The firm has also geared up for the upcoming 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China's Zhejiang Province, by diligently preparing an array of top-notch products.
"Chongqing has long held a significant status as a key manufacturing hub, with its industry consistently ranking among the country's leaders and making an impact on the global stage," said Wei.

The city's manufacturing prowess spans various sectors, including automobile, machinery, electronic information, aerospace, etc. "This abundant industry structure grants Chongqing a formidable edge in the global supply chain, enabling it to play a role in high-profile sports events," he said.
In Wei's eyes, international sports events present tremendous opportunities to boost the visibility and recognition of Chongqing's manufacturing firms, elevating the reputation of the city's independent brands among potential customers.
To increase the international standing of Chongqing-made brands, Wei emphasized the importance of investing in research and development to enhance the city's innovation capabilities. Product quality supervision is also a priority to ensure that Chongqing's offerings meet the highest quality and safety standards, strengthening trust and credibility in the global market.
Supporting sports events has proven significant for enterprises, providing enhanced reputation and considerable economic benefits. "Our domestic business continues to grow despite the challenging backdrop from the COVID-19 pandemic," said Huang.
Huang believes that culture and creative products rooted in traditional Chinese culture are essential to innovating modern civilization. "We aim to breath new life into the heritage by infusing fresh formats and introducing Chinese elements onto the global stage," he said.
