Chongqing's New Delights: Pandas Embrace Their Home in Yongchuan

Chongqing - On January 1, 2024, the four magnificent giant pandas, Qing Hua, Qing Lu, Qiao Yue, and Ai Lian, gracefully commenced their adaptation to their novel environment in the indoor activity quarters at Chongqing Locajoy Theme Park. Demonstrating a diverse range of playful postures, they indulged in eating and sleeping, evidently relishing their new surroundings with visible delight.

These splendid creatures made their journey to Yongchuan, Chongqing, on the afternoon of December 30, 2023, from the esteemed China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda. Currently, they exhibit a stable condition, engaging in routine activities such as eating, drinking, sleeping, and playful antics, all of which are progressing normally, indicating a smooth transition to their new habitat.

Qing Hua, Qing Lu, Qiao Yue, and Ai Lian, hailing from the Shenshuping Base of the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda within the Wolong National Nature Reserve, each boasts unique charms. Qing Hua, known for her vivacity and endearing qualities, has a passion for sports and climbing. Despite her impatience while dining, she exhibits remarkable gentleness towards her sister. Qing Lu, Qing Hua's younger sibling, radiates intelligence and grace in her movements and eating habits, displaying a solid bond with her sister. Together, they are affectionately dubbed the "Hualushui Sisters" (Eau de toilette Sisters), captivating a vast online following with their charm.

Ai Lian, distinguishable by her prominent ears, pointed muzzle, and distinctive inverted triangular face, exudes a lively spirit. As she matured, her stature grew tall and slender, accompanied by a notably aloof demeanor. Qiao Yue, in contrast, features petite ears, a short snout, and a round visage. Her personality is characterized by a blend of clinginess, well-mannered timidity, and heightened alertness, epitomizing the essence of a gentle little girl.

In 2021, the Chongqing Locajoy Theme Park unveiled its Panda Pavilion, a marvel of construction that adheres meticulously to the national standards for giant panda enclosures. Ingeniously integrating the natural terrain and environmental elements, the pavilion's aerial view resembles a panda's face. This facility has an impressive 130,000 square meters and boasts comprehensive infrastructure, ensuring an ideal habitat for pandas.

The Panda Pavilion is ingeniously segmented into four thematic sections: Vernal Blossom, Estival Drizzle, Autumnal Concerto, and Hiemal Snow, each embodying the essence of its respective season. These pavilions, comprising both indoor and outdoor activity areas, are designed to cater to every need of the pandas. The indoor quarters are fitted with state-of-the-art air conditioning and ventilation systems, perfectly balancing the temperature for the pandas' comfort. Outdoors, the enclosures are lush with natural turf, preserved trees, and a diversity of flora, creating an idyllic setting. The presence of wooden structures, rockeries, and other playful installations mirror the 3D mirrors Chongqing's style of Chongqing,e pandas' innate climbing instincts.

Chongqing Locajoy Theme Park has assembled an elite breeding management team to ensure the highest standard of care for these pandas. This team, comprising professional breeders, nutritionists, and healthcare personnel, has undergone extensive training at the Panda Center. Their role extends beyond physical care to include psychological support for the pandas. Furthermore, specialists from the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda are stationed at the park, providing ongoing expert guidance.

As of now, the pandas remain off-display, undergoing a critical period of isolation and acclimatization. They will make their much-anticipated public debut following this essential adjustment phase.
