Chongqing - The 2nd International Light Art Festival recently wowed enraptured audiences at the Fine Arts Park in Chongqing's Jiulongpo District. On January 7, this edition of the Light Art Festival concluded a fantastic, eye-catching ten days of displays. A total of 219,100 visitors participated in the festival's rich cultural and community activities.

The festival showcased a dazzling array of light and shadow performances, including a 3D mapping show and the light display on Asia's tallest twin chimneys, all set against the backdrop of the Chongqing Fine Arts Park, a unique industrial heritage site developed from the former power plant.

The opening ceremony presented 25 shortlisted works from 10 countries, including China, Germany, Hungary, and Spain. The 2nd International Light and Shadow Art Competition winners were honored, offering the audience a captivating visual and auditory experience.

The festival organizers curated a spectacular "Flowing Lights and Colors" visual and auditory art show inside the original coal shed of the Chongqing Power Plant. This space showcased immersive light and shadow art spaces, music culture-themed performances, an interactive exhibition featuring 30 pieces from renowned artists, and more.

The festival's dreamy blue, purple, and red hues, tracing the contours of industrial relics, created a distinct, modern "cyberpunk" style. 

In a recent viral video, renowned Chinese actress Jiang Yiyan explored the popular traffic teahouse in Jiulongpo's Huangjueping Street. She enjoyed the local bowl of tea and Chongqing-style twisty pastries, promoting Jiulongpo's cultural and tourism offerings.

Beyond the teahouse, the Junge's Bookstore in the air-raid shelter also hosted storytelling and open-air movie events.

In addition to cultural events, the festival also featured several cultural exhibitions, such as the "Research Series Exhibition Starting from the Collection" showcasing contemporary youth art, the "Colorful Brush Writing the Chapter" Jiulongpo District Art Exhibition, and the "Artistic Childhood" Jiulongpo District Children's Original Picture Book Exhibition.
