Chongqing - Chen Min, deputy to the sixth Chongqing Municipal People's Congress and vice president of the Dianjiang County New Professional Federation, has expressed her commitment to addressing issues related to the elderly, children, and population fertility.
Chen plans to focus on the welfare of women and children during this year's legislative sessions, emphasizing the pressing need for improved childcare services for infants and young children aged 0-3.
Chen pointed out that Chongqing's inadequate childcare systems and resources led to difficulties expanding and stabilizing childcare institutions.

In 2023, she proposed to enhance inclusive childcare services in Chongqing, emphasizing the improvement of childcare mechanisms, increased funding, and the development of a skilled childcare workforce. Her suggestions were well-received and included in Chongqing's three-year action plan (2023-2025) for improving care for children under three years old.
The plan supports comprehensive childcare, focusing on widespread care and education. It also increases financial aid for daycare and infant classes, offering subsidies between 700 and 900 yuan per child yearly. This approach aligns with Chen's call to bolster investment in childcare services.
Chen is also concentrating on enhancing Chongqing's transport infrastructure. She has observed that Line 3 of the Chongqing light rail experiences substantial passenger traffic. The absence of accessible pathways and the limited number of squat toilets in female restrooms cause significant inconvenience for women and tourists carrying bulky luggage.
Chen plans to propose improvements in the city's rail transit system and its overall image at this year's Two Sessions. Her suggestions include enhancing voice announcements, introducing carriages specifically for women, and initiating upgrades and renovations.
