Chongqing - Nearly 20 Chongqing entities have recently initiated HarmonyOS application development to boost the ecosystem in Chongqing and western China, with applications spanning public services, finance, news, and smart vehicles, involving key players like Changan Automobile, Chongqing Daily, and Fumin Bank.

For instance, Fumin Bank, a digitally focused financial institution, offers a wide array of products, spanning internet lending, online payments, financial markets, and wealth management.

Yan Dong, the executive vice president of Fumin Bank, commented, "Fumin Bank and Huawei are deepening their collaboration to leverage their mutual strengths. We aim to continue harnessing cutting-edge technology and innovative approaches to jointly explore and craft more inventive applications and a variety of services."

Another participant, Chongqing Daily Newspaper Group, a leading local media platform, is dedicated to producing high-quality news content that resonates locally and nationally. Integrating with the HarmonyOS system will enhance content delivery and enrich user experiences.

Chongqing Zhubajie Co., Ltd., a prominent online platform in China, is also part of the initiative. They foresee HarmonyOS native applications' expansion opening up new growth prospects for Chongqing's internet sector, contributing significantly to the city's vibrancy and the western region's ecological development.

Wang Yue, a representative from Huawei, mentioned that introducing high-quality applications across various sectors in Chongqing will positively impact local enterprises and the wider region. Looking forward, the ecosystem is set to welcome more innovative HarmonyOS products and services, offering consumers a novel, intelligent experience.

Introduced in August 2019, HarmonyOS, known as Hongmeng in Chinese, is an open-source operating system by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., suitable for devices such as smart displays, tablets, wearables, and vehicles.
