The six showcased models belong to Changan's three main brands: the affordable Qiyuan and Deepal and the premium Avatr. The event drew numerous representatives from the Mexican government and Changan's local partners. Additionally, Mexico's ambassador to China, Jesus Seade Kuri, extended his congratulations through a video message.

Song Shuang, the newly-appointed General Manager of Changan Auto's Latin America division, attended the launch. He highlighted that the creation of the Mexican subsidiary reflects Changan's long-term commitment to the region.

"Changan is willing to be a promoter of friendly cooperation between Chinese and Mexican enterprises, working hand in hand with Mexican partners to boost the high-quality development of Mexico's automotive industry," he said.

Changan has been in the Latin American market, particularly Mexico, for many years. In September 2023, Changan started building its network in Mexico and held a media conference on October 21, endorsed by the Mayor of Chongqing. This event greatly boosted the company's growth in Latin America.

A Google search reveals that Changan Auto has already launched its official website for the Mexican market. The site lists the starting price of the flagship UNI-K model as 799,900 pesos (USD 43,600). Efforts to introduce models from other brands are still ongoing.

Changan Auto's official plans reveal that by the end of 2024, the company intends to introduce five electric and four fuel models in Mexico. By 2027, this lineup will expand to 11 fuel and 14 electric models.

To improve service quality, Changan Auto has set up a 5,000-square-meter parts center in Mexico, a nationwide call center, and a Changan training center. These initiatives aim to significantly boost service response speed and quality.

Changan Auto, a Chinese automotive giant, sold 2.55 million vehicles in 2023, including 358,000 exports. In 2023, Changan also started building its first overseas base in Thailand.
