By TAN XINYUHUXIN LUOYINGZHU CHEN|May 22,2025

Chongqing - From robot dogs to regional delicacies, the Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT) is where global innovation meets cultural charm. Held in Chongqing from May 22 to 25, the event brings together smart tech, handmade crafts, and international brands under one roof.

Bridging News is on the ground to explore what makes this fair a unique window into China’s growing role in global trade and consumer trends.

Khin Htay Kywe, owner of Htay Thitsar International Co Ltd from Myanmar, is attending the fair for the first time. She is showcasing traditional Myanmar's handicrafts and amber jewelry, hoping to explore more business opportunities in China.

She noted that clients from Zhejiang province have already shown interest in her products this morning. Through the WCIFIT, she aims to expand her reach across China and, if she finds appealing Chinese products, she plans to promote them back in Myanmar.

According to Jin Yuqi, a representative from Changan Automobile's brand PR department, the company is presenting its latest products and seeking to enhance brand recognition through the fair.

Thanks to Lin Jiang, affectionately known as "Uncle," and his social media promotion—especially during his recent China trip with YouTuber star IShowSpeed—Rongchang District in Southwest China's Chongqing and its braised goose have gained nationwide attention. During the May Day holiday, the district saw a surge in visitors.

Zeng Liping from the Rongchang District Commission of Commerce said the fair is an opportunity to draw more investment and expand business cooperation.
