Chongqing - A freight train loaded with 84 standard containers of Changan Automobile vehicles recently departed from Chongqing's Luohuang Port special railway line, marking a significant milestone for the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC). 

The train is set to pass through the corridor, reaching the Beibu Gulf Port in Guangxi before continuing its journey by sea to Peru's Chancay Port. This marks the first-ever direct connection between the corridor and Chancay Port, creating a new export route for Chongqing's vehicles to Latin America.

Chancay Port, jointly developed by China and Peru under the Belt and Road Initiative, is invested in and operated by COSCO Shipping. It serves as a key gateway and strategic hub for the ILSTC’s outreach to Latin America. For the first time, two flagship Belt and Road projects—the Land-Sea Trade Corridor and Chancay Port—have been linked through collaboration between the Corridor and COSCO Shipping. 

This joint effort has facilitated the export of Changan vehicles to Peru, allowing “Made in Chongqing” automobiles to reach South American consumers faster and at a lower cost. China's automotive industry has experienced rapid growth in recent years, with Chongqing emerging as a key national automotive manufacturing base. As part of its strategic goal to build a world-class automotive industry cluster, Chongqing is actively supporting its vehicles to go global. 

Bringing News has learned that building on the success of its first shipment, Chongqing-based New Land-Sea Corridor Operation Co., Ltd. is preparing a second rail-sea intermodal freight service to Chancay, set to depart in early July. 

The company aims to boost Chongqing-made vehicle exports via the ILSTC, while strengthening international automotive trade. It will continue working with partners to enhance regional cooperation, improve logistics efficiency, and lower costs through supply chain financing.

The company is working to provide tailored logistics solutions for automakers like Changan and Seres. These solutions optimize customs clearance, streamline logistics operations, and reduce costs, ensuring Chongqing's vehicles reach global markets efficiently and affordably.
