Chongqing - On November 11, the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute (SCFAI) and the Russian Academy of Arts signed an agreement in Chongqing to establish the China-Russia Contemporary Art Creation and Communication Center. During the event, Vasiliy Zurabovich Tsereteli, President of the Russian Academy of Arts, was appointed as an Honorary Professor of SCFAI.

Wang Chaogang, Standing Committee Member of the CPC Committee and Vice President of SFAI, extended a warm welcome to Mr. Tsereteli and his delegation. He noted that cultural and artistic exchanges between China and Russia are an important bridge for strengthening mutual understanding and emotional connection between the two peoples. The signing of the cooperation agreement and the honorary professorship appointment mark a milestone in deepening cooperation between the two institutions, serving as a vivid demonstration of the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership in the cultural and artistic fields.
Vasiliy Tsereteli, President of the Russian Academy of Arts, said, "I am deeply honored to be appointed as an Honorary Professor at SCFAI. I see this not as an endpoint, but as the first step in our future collaboration. The establishment of the China-Russia Contemporary Art Creation and Communication Center presents a significant opportunity to deepen our dialogue."

In their speeches, both sides expressed their commitment to promoting deeper exchanges and joint development in contemporary art. Jiao Xingtao stated that the newly established China-Russia Contemporary Art Creation and Communication Center will serve as a key platform for advancing collaboration in artistic creation, academic research, exhibitions, and talent cultivation, thereby further contributing to the prosperity of art in both countries.
Looking ahead, the center will strengthen cooperation between SCFAI and the Russian Academy of Arts through faculty and student exchanges, joint teaching, and research programs, providing strong support for nurturing young artistic talents and fostering long-term cultural ties between China and Russia.
