Chongqing – “Let’s Meet,” the first all-English international broadcast program in Chongqing, will air its 157th episode, “New Silk Road, New Journey,” on November 8. The program is jointly produced by the Western China International Communication Organization and Chongqing Satellite TV and will be broadcast across domestic and international media platforms.

New Silk Road, New Journey

The 7th China-Arab States Broadcasting and Television Cooperation Forum has just concluded in Chongqing. Representatives from broadcasters, international organizations, think tanks, and universities from China and Arab countries gathered in the city to discuss cooperation and development.

The forum was not only a major event for China–Arab cultural exchanges, but also a milestone in Chongqing’s efforts to build itself into an international exchange hub. In this episode of Bridging News, let’s look back at the cultural highlights of China–Arab cooperation.

Hamlet in Chongqing Style

A special drama — “Hamlet Gossip” — was recently staged at the Chongqing Peking Opera Theater. This adaptation by renowned Chinese director Gu Lei reimagines Shakespeare’s classic through the lively, down-to-earth atmosphere of Chongqing.

The director said that the fiery spirit of Chongqing culture makes the classic more relatable to modern audiences. In this episode of iChongqing, let’s step into the theater and experience this captivating fusion of East and West.

Exploring Outdoor Wulong with Saahil

Recently, Saahil, an international student from India, discovered a new way to enjoy Chongqing’s “8D” terrain — by participating in the 20th China International Mountain Outdoor Sports Open in Wulong.

The competition included bamboo sedan races, mountain biking, trail running, and kayaking, allowing participants to challenge themselves amid breathtaking karst landscapes and canyon views.

Chongqing in the Global Spotlight

This week, Chongqing continues to shine on the international stage. Seres Group’s launch of its Hong Kong listing plan has attracted significant media attention. Three significant events in Chongqing drew broad coverage: the launch of Seres Group’s Hong Kong IPO, the opening of Vietnam’s Consulate General in Chongqing, and a visit by a Hungarian think tank delegation. Chinese and foreign media outlets, including Reuters and Vietnam News Agency, reported on the developments and their outcomes.

“Let’s Meet” airs every Wednesday and Saturday at 6 p.m. on Chongqing Satellite TV. It is also released simultaneously on the “Let’s Meet” official WeChat Channels, the Bridging News app, the iChongqing website, Facebook, YouTube, WCICO’s global communication matrix platform, and Chongqing Satellite TV’s new media platforms.
