Chongqing — The two-day media tour "Confidence in Development — New Chongqing Through the Lens" began on March 27, bringing together leading photojournalists from media outlets across China to capture Chongqing’s transformation through urban renewal, logistics development, and technological innovation.
The delegation visited Chongqing International Logistics Hub Park in Shapingba District, a key departure point for the China-Europe Railway Express and a major node in the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.

Pan Biyun, a photojournalist with Xinmin Evening News, reflected on the visit: "Seeing the China-Europe freight train depart fully loaded with ‘Made in Chongqing' goods was very exciting and moving," Pan said. "As a media professional from Shanghai, a city that shares the Yangtze River with Chongqing, I hope to use photography to share Chongqing’s development with audiences in Shanghai and across the country."
The hub serves as a starting point for China-Europe Railway Express services and has built a modern logistics system integrating corridors, hubs, and networks, with 64 international freight routes reaching 127 countries and 579 ports worldwide.
In the afternoon, at Mingyue Lake Science and Innovation Park, the delegation observed HENGBOT’s Sirius, a next-generation quadruped robot. Sirius replicates the agility and movement of a real dog, supports natural interaction, and can develop a unique personality through AI-based training. Its design allows it to learn customized actions and evolve with its user, making each robot distinct.

The group also visited Sevnce Robotics Co., Ltd., a national high-tech enterprise recognized as a “Little Giant,” specializing in robots for emergency response and hazardous environments. Its explosion-proof quadruped and wheeled robots operate in extreme conditions, supporting inspection, rescue, and maintenance tasks.

Later, the media team toured Minzhu Village in Jiulongpo District, an urban community built in the 1950s that has undergone careful renovation. The project preserved the neighborhood’s original character while improving infrastructure and public services. Residents gathered in community canteens, children played in public squares, and elderly residents enjoyed outdoor activities.

“Walking into Minzhu Village, I felt like I could live here. It is extraordinary that such an old residential area can retain its original character while evolving with the modern city. The happiness on residents’ faces reflects the success of this renovation, and I hope to show this livable and vibrant Chongqing to a wider audience,” said Lin Bangyan, a photographer with Wenzhou Evening News.
By the end of the day, the photojournalists had captured a broad view of Chongqing’s development — from modern logistics operations to community-focused urban renewal and cutting-edge robotics — reflecting a city that balances industrial growth, technological innovation, and improvements in residents’ daily lives.
