Chongqing - The 24th China International Motorcycle Trade Exhibition (CIMAMotor 2026) will take place from September 19 to 22 in Chongqing, a major motorcycle manufacturing hub in southwest China. Organizers say this year’s event is set to be the largest in the exhibition’s history.

The exhibition will span over 170,000 square meters at the Chongqing International Expo Center, featuring eight indoor halls and a vast outdoor area. More than 1,000 companies from China and nine other countries are expected to participate.

More than 100 motorcycle and electric vehicle brands will showcase over 3,000 models through exhibitions and live demonstrations. Displays will cover the entire supply chain, from complete gasoline-powered and electric motorcycles to key components such as fuel injection systems, shock absorbers, chains, sprockets and clutches.

An exhibition official said motorcycles were becoming more premium, intelligent and personalized. Racing technology is increasingly being introduced into production models, while electric two-wheelers are expanding beyond commuting to include off-road, commercial, and high-speed uses. 

Automotive technologies, including vehicle-grade chips, artificial intelligence models, centralized electronic control systems and AI-based active safety, are also moving into the two-wheel sector.

The show will feature batteries, electric motorcycle components, and riding equipment, including protective products incorporating smart wearable functions.

Trade will form another major part of the event. The China Motorcycle Chongqing Forum will bring together vehicle manufacturers, supply-chain companies and researchers to discuss global market trends, international expansion, technological development and changing consumer demand.

A separate cross-border video e-commerce exhibition will connect Chinese manufacturers with overseas buyers through video-based online sales channels. Buyers from more than 20 countries across the Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa have registered, with demand covering vehicles, components, riding gear and electric and intelligent technologies.

For China's domestic market, organizers plan to work with major e-commerce platforms to combine the physical exhibition with online transactions and local consumer services. The model is intended to turn product displays into sales during the event.

Beyond the trade halls, more than 50 motorcycle-themed activities are planned. The outdoor area will host test rides, slow-riding competitions, gymkhana courses and stunt events.

The "920 Labor Riders Day," now in its seventh year, will honor workers who rely on motorcycles or electric bikes for their livelihoods. Organizers also plan more than 10 motorcycle culture events across Chongqing, along with an updated city map that connects riders with commercial districts, hotels, restaurants, gas stations, and tourist attractions.

"The event's activities will cover the entire city, making Chongqing a home ground for riders," an exhibition official said.

The CIMAMotor is China's only national-level professional motorcycle exhibition, a designation used for major industry events backed or recognized at the national level. It serves as a platform for product launches, trade, technology exchanges and industry information, while also drawing motorcycle enthusiasts.
